If possible, try to get an extended warranty for greater coverage. This is especially important for large ticket items such as massage chairs with many moving parts.

There are some outstanding new features built into the Real Pro Ultra series of massage chairs. The EP 30004 has both a lower body stretch and a shoulder stretch. There is also a new massage technique called Junetsu. The Junetsu massage technique literally means ultra-fine kneading in Japanese. The Junetsu massage technique uses small circular motions and one second of firm thumb-like pressure. The effect of this massage is to radiate through the muscle and reach the surface of the bone.

The EP-30004 comes with an arsenal of massage therapies for your enjoyment. There are four pre-programs: Shiatsu, Deep, Swedish and Stretch. Then select the desired duration and massage intensity. You can also save these programs. It stores programs for up to 4 different users. There’s also a voice guidance system for those less inclined to read through the manual to find out these things.

The lower body is covered with an air compression massage system. This system uses strategically placed airbags throughout the massage chair to reach the hands, arms, feet, calves, thighs and buttocks. The massage technique is a compression style that pushes, holds and releases. This is very beneficial and relieves the extremities of the body. In addition, there are stretching options for both the legs and shoulders. These are great for increasing flexibility by lengthening muscles.

The chair design looks quite industrial which is probably the most disappointing aspect of the massage chair. The leg rest extends an additional 5 inches, which is an important feature. We would wish for better warranty protection and a better design aesthetic. However, the massage therapy is very effective and the chair is quite well designed. This is definitely a shiatsu massage chair worth considering at the higher end of the market.
