The aquaculture area in 2022 in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province is estimated at 6,518 ha, reaching 100% of the plan. Aquaculture production by the end of 2022 is estimated at 20,588 tons, an increase of 796 tons, which is 4% compared to 2021 and reaching 101% of the plan.

In general, the total aquaculture production increased in the first 10 months of 2022, the production increase was concentrated in the group of vannamei shrimp and other aquatic products and decreased in the remaining groups. The production of the white-leg shrimp group increased the most.

In 2022, the total farming area of ​​Ba Ria – Vung Tau continues to decrease compared to 2021, the reduction area is concentrated in the form of extensive and improved extensive agriculture, the area of ​​intensive shrimp farming with high technology application continuously increasing, so that the production in the same period has increased further. Also, the increased product structure focused on the group of brackish shrimp, which has high economic value, so the growth rate still achieved good results in the same period.
