Pham Vu Tu Giang, a chrysanthemum seller in Nha Trang city, said that he brought 400 pots of chrysanthemum flowers from Ninh Giang (Ninh Hoa city) from Dec. 20 to sell them in Cau Dua area on Oct. 23. So far, however, more than 80 pots have been sold, very slowly. While he’s basically sold most of it so far last year despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. Due to slow consumption, Mr. Giang lowered the price of chrysanthemum flowers to attract buyers, but still not positive.

“First, I sold VND 320-330,000/50cm diameter flowerpot and VND 500-600,000/60cm diameter pot. At present, the sale is only 300-400,000 dong, but there are also few buyers who face the risk of high loss,” Giang said.

Similarly, on Thai Nguyen Street and Children’s House in Khanh Hoa Province, there are still many chrysanthemums for sale, few people come to buy flowers.

Mr. Le Minh Hung from Ninh Binh Township, Ninh Hoa City (Khanh Hoa) expressed his sadness while selling flowers on Thai Nguyen Street because it was too poor. Mr. Hung said that since December 21, he had rented a truck to transport 100 pots of 60cm-diameter chrysanthemums, but only 10 pots had been sold so far. The sad thing is that from yesterday 19.1. until this afternoon 20.1. didn’t sell any pots.

“From now on, there are no spectators to buy flowers. When customers look at it, the price is too low from time to time, so it can’t be sold,” Hung said sadly.

Like Mr. Giang, Mr. Hung has lowered the flower price to VND200,000/pot. Concretely, he sold 800,000 VND/pot at first, now he has 600,000 VND/pot. However, he said that with the sale price mentioned above, he only got his capital back, but the flowers taken in the garden shed, as well as the transport and rental phases have all increased.

Not only chrysanthemums are sluggish, yellow apricots are also consumed very slowly. Apricots are mainly sold by Binh Dinh in Nha Trang City, the price depends on the tree, but the lowest is from 800 to 1 million VND/pot; the highest is tens of millions of dong/pot.

Mr. Nam, an apricot seller in An Nhon town, Binh Dinh, said that due to the influence of the weather, a few buds that are “silk sprung” will be brought here tomorrow, making the players’ purchase probability less likely. For example, on December 24, Mr. Nam brought 200 pots of apricots, but only sold 1/5, but most of them sell small pots of about 800,000. “It’s like selling apricots at this tet is a failure,” lamented Nam.

Not far from Mr. Nam’s apricot outlet is An’s apricot outlet near the Stone Church area which isn’t currently selling many pots. Chi An said the family brought 150 pots of apricots to Nha Trang as of December 21. Recently, due to the influence of 2 frosts, apricot buds are scattered, in addition, the buds are blooming less, so this time the sale of flowers is not cheap, few people buy. The family is supposed to go to Binh Dinh tomorrow to take care of it again.

Besides chrysanthemums and yellow apricots, kumquats, peaches and ornamental flowers such as raspberry chrysanthemums, marigolds, etc. are also sold in Nha Trang City. However, on the afternoon of December 29th we still have quite a lot.

Ms. Duong Thi Thao, a marigold vendor, said Oct. 23 that marigold consumption is slow this year. Last year the family sold 5,000 pots, now it’s almost done. This year, however, the family only sold 3,000 pots, the price was 25,000 VND/pot, 5,000 VND/pot lower than last year, but now there are 1,000 pots left.

Anh Tinh, a peach seller on Le Thanh Ton Street, Nha Trang City, said that on this Tet holiday he brought nearly 1,000 branches from Nhat Tan (Hanoi) peach trees to sell at a price of 750-800/branch (depending on the price) sell the branch). Fortunately, from December 20th to now, he has been able to sell more than 80% of the stores. However, he said that the consumption is also slow and the selling price is not very good.
