On May 8, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa and ThaiBinh Seed Group inspected the summer rice field to evaluate the yield and quality of three new rice varieties being tested in Thanh Hoa.
In the spring harvest of 2023, ThaiBinh Seed Group has tested three new varieties of rice in Quang Cat District (Thanh Hoa City) with the approval of the specialized agencies of Thanh Hoa Province. So far, rice varieties are ready for harvest and have many yield advantages. The two-row hybrid rice variety TBH 222, selected by the group’s rice research institute, is expected to yield about 75 quintals/ha.
Two other 3-line hybrid rice varieties, KH9C16 and TB 456, also give expected yields of 78 quintals/ha and 70 quintals/ha, respectively, in the Quang Cat field. These are two new varieties of rice developed by ThaiBinh Seed Group in collaboration with Chinese seed companies. So far, after 115/130 days of growth, rice has shown many benefits such as: B. hard, compact leaves and stems and a high proportion of firm seeds.
ThaiBinh Seed Group’s linkage model of rice production in Truong Son (Nong Cong) and Xuan Minh (Tho Xuan) communes promotes efficiency and brings farmers stable income. With 220 ha of rice varieties TBR 225 and TBR 97 tied in the two locations mentioned above, it also has many outstanding advantages over other rice varieties. The expected yield is 8 t/ha or 7 t/ha. All 3 new ThaiBinh Seed rice varieties included in the test were not sprayed with pesticides due to their resistance to pests and diseases. This is also a necessary factor in breeding modern rice varieties to reduce production costs towards safe production without chemical drugs.
