The Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights (amended) is based on ensuring compliance with the procedures and deadlines set out in the Law on the Publication of Legal Documents, and at the same time is revised and completed on the basis of collecting and explaining opinions from relevant authorities, organizations and individuals.

On June 8, 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Report No. 3203/TTr-BCT to report to the government on the proposed legislation. The content of the legislative project was coordinated by the members of the government.

On August 1, 2022, the Minister of Industry and Trade signed Report No. 257/TTr-CP on behalf of the Government, with the authority of the Prime Minister, to report to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the Consumer Rights Protection Bill (revised).

On August 15, 2022, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly at the August Legislative Session commented on the Consumer Rights Protection Bill (amended).

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly warmly welcomed the preparation process of the government’s draft law and the verification report of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee.

At the same time, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly proposed the government to further study, revise and complete the dossier of the draft law in order to complete the dossier of the draft law and submit it to the National Assembly for consideration and opinion on the basis of the opinions Opinions of the review body and participation of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

According to the work program of the National Assembly, the draft law on consumer protection (amended) will be submitted to the National Assembly at the 4th session (October 2022) for consideration and opinion.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade said the Consumer Protection Bill (amended) has been reviewed, completed and many new regulations added to meet new real-world needs.
