In the third month from August 15 to September 15, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a brand promotion. This is the first time that Ho Chi Minh City organizes a super promotional program with branded goods.

Regarding this program, Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan, Director of Service Division of VNPAY, said that this unit will coordinate with big companies such as Diamond Plaza, Phuc Long, Katinat and Highlands Coffee for cashless payment incentive program to stimulate consumption, Trung Nguyen Legend Cafe, Phuong Nam Bookstore, Dong A Bookstore… to get preferential programs and special offers with cashless payment.

According to Mr. Marek Forysiak, President of SmartPay, the entity has also implemented QR codes to help more than 600,000 locations in the distribution network to make mobile payments more convenient and efficient in cashless payments, which especially helps micro and small businesses that are always still facing major problems are challenges related to other digital payment acceptance technologies.

Statistics from the Payments Department of the State Bank of Vietnam show that payment by QR code grew the most by the end of March 2023, with an increase of 160.7% in volume and 43.8% in value. Meanwhile, POS payments also saw significant growth, with a 37.5% increase in volume and 32% in value.
