Recently, Uong Bi (Quang Ninh) City Agricultural Technical Service Center held a conference to summarize the model of cultivation and testing of rice variety ST25 in the 2022 harvest in Phuong Dong and Trung Vuong districts.

The test model of rice variety ST25 was implemented in 150 households with a size of 20 ha. The total cost of implementing the model is over VND 600 million, of which the state budget supports nearly VND 184 million.

After more than 5 months of implementation, the ST25 rice test model yielded an average yield of more than 5.9 tons/ha, after deducting costs, generating a profit of more than VND 44 million/ha.

Farmers like us are therefore also safe and boldly planting new rice varieties like this to diversify local varieties.”

Mr. Nguyen Duy Toan, director of Uong Bi City Agricultural Technical Service Center, said that the cultivation and cultivation of ST25 rice variety requires technical skills from the first stage to harvesting and preliminary processing; Prudent and balanced use of fertilizers, minimizing the use of pesticides, thereby helping to minimize negative impacts on the environment and human health.

The rice variety ST25 cultivated in the 2022 crop is suitable for the local soil, soil and climate conditions after evaluation. The effective piloting of the ST25 new rice variety will help replace the old low-yield, low-quality rice varieties, in line with the development orientation of commercial rice production, and bring high-quality varieties into production in the global urban area.

In the coming period, Uong Bi City Agricultural Technical Service Center will continue to organize training courses on agricultural techniques and guide the care process for each participating farmer.
