According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), exports of pangasius to the Chinese market reached an estimated US$64.2 million in October, up 105% from the same period in 2021.
Exports of frozen pangasius fillets/pieces accounted for 75% at over USD 48 million; Whole fresh/frozen pangasius accounted for over 24% and reached nearly USD 16 million.
For example, pangasius exports to China reached US$654 million in the first 10 months of this year, up 110%, more than double the same period last year.
With the above value, China continues to be the largest market for Vietnamese pangasius, accounting for about 30% of the total pangasius export value in 10 months.
In the import markets for Vietnamese pangasius, China has consistently maintained the highest growth since the beginning of the year until now.
Monthly pangasius exports to China have more than doubled compared to the same period last year.
And from 2020 to date, China has always maintained its position as the largest market for Vietnamese pangasius.
