On July 19, Central Highlands Agro-Forestry Science Institute (WASI) and Enfarm Agritech Company held a signing ceremony for the Smart Fertilizer Technology Research Collaboration.

Currently, fertilizers are not used effectively and sustainably. The efficiency of using nitrogen fertilizers in Vietnam is only 30-45%, phosphorus 40-45% and potassium 40-50%. As a result, a very large part of the fertilizers that are not absorbed by the plants remain in the environment.

In addition to a part fixed in the ground, part evaporates due to the effects of temperature, the rest is washed away by rain from the surface water and gets into the groundwater, which leads to water pollution. From an economic point of view, farmers spend a lot of money on buying fertilizers.

To solve this big problem, Enfarm Agritech Company has developed a smart fertilizer solution that uses IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology to help farmers know when to fertilize, what kind of fertilizer and how much fertilizer is enough to maximize productivity , reduce fertilizer costs and limit the loss of excess fertilizer to the environment.

In addition, the company also integrates the functions of weather forecasting, price and profit forecasting, pest and disease diagnosis, electronic farming manual, as well as AI (intelligence, artificial intelligence) answering farmers’ questions into a smartphone app to assist farmers.

The use of intelligent fertilizer technology will be one of the important breakthroughs to help improve farmers’ incomes. In particular, this technology will promote the sustainable development of agribusiness and protect the environment and people’s health.
