According to Mr. Vy, Quynh Minh is a flat municipality with over 5,000 inhabitants and a natural area of ​​406 ha, but the land fund specializing in crop production accounts for almost half.

“Quynh Minh is developing several sectors at the moment, but growing crops is always the main thing, whatever vegetables are available in the market, Quynh Minh has those vegetables. 95% of our population grows crops, this is the main source of income for farmers, the rich do not dare to discuss, but this profession generates a fairly stable income, the standard of living in such rural areas is acceptable. OK.”

In order to limit risks and increase people’s income, the cooperative has a methodical plan that reflects both the actual situation and the needs of the market. From then on, in order to plant in accordance with the seasonal structure and take advantage of the dry weather of the spring harvest, Quynh Minh prioritized 120-140 ha for growing crops, especially flowers and spring bulbs, covering most of the area. These two species are easy to breed, but the common trait is quite “flashy”, with unusual weather problems, natural disasters are easy to lose, but avoiding waterlogging, farmers are sure to win big.

Proceeding from this characteristic, every year from the end of autumn, the Quynh Minh actively reduce the area of ​​u200bu200bthe cultivation of onions, basically keeping only about 30-40 hectares, on the contrary, they spend up to 120 hectares of “golden land” for it By planting vegetables, tubers, etc. in the change of seasons, the attitude is always ready to meet the taste of the market.

Quynh Minh vegetables are diverse in varieties, the production is large enough to be delivered, combined with the long-tested quality, so the brand is constantly being built. The favorable cultivation and business process has brought about a significant change. When life is guaranteed, it has driven the farmers here to do big, think big.

The beauty of Quynh Minh’s way of growing colors is that they are suited to local people’s conditions. There is no need to discuss young people with broad shoulders and long shoulders, even older people who are by nature unsuitable for manual work know how to make a difference. For example veteran Hoang Nhan living in hamlet 3, on a land fund of only about 1 Sao, he only focuses on seed (cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi) production around areas like Nghi Loc, Vinh City, Dien districts to supply Chau . Mr. Nhan also linked to traditional onion cultivation and helped stabilize the income of the two grandparents with an income of 50-70 million VND/year.

The honest appraisal throughout the journey through the above words is not an exaggeration, on the contrary, it continues to confirm the entirely correct policy and direction of the Quynh Minh Municipality government. Although Quynh Minh is in possession of a “golden brand” and an admirable model cooperative that is regarded as a bright spot of the whole Nghe An province, little did it know that today’s result is a crystallization, forged from the strength of hands and endless creative minds of people who dare to think, to do, to face challenges and difficulties.

“The downside of Quynh Minh is that there is no fishing port, people who want to do business in the fishing industry have to contribute capital and work with people from other regions, which is actually a hindrance. However, the difficulty cannot be combined with wisdom, because since the natural conditions are suitable, we develop tirelessly growing plants, gradually increasing the scale and quality toward goods and sustainable union. On average, one hectare of vegetables brings Quynh Minh 420 million VND/year, the average per capita income is 40-50 million VND/year,” said Ho Dien Vy.

There is a model cooperative, each member contributes 500 million VND

30 years ago Quynh Minh Municipality had 3 cooperative models, 1 in agriculture, 2 in salt making. This time is difficult enough, no matter where they are, they cannot keep up with the passage of time. The more the cooperatives existed, the more tragic it became that the trust of the members continued to fall and finally had to be dissolved at the same time.

Mr. Ho Dien Vy clung to him from an early age and was very impressed with the situation himself at the time. Holding his heavy mind for many years made his heart restless. “The cultivation of crops in Quynh Minh has been around for a long time, since the days when the infrastructure was poor, the equipment was still lacking, there was not even electricity and roads, it was sometimes dark at night, as dark as Relatives’ Button Glasses had to fumble and collect water from afar to water each vegetable patch, not as leisurely as now. Quynh Minh officially had electricity for lighting in 1993, since then the farmers’ daily life and activities are a little less difficult.

“It wasn’t until 2009, when I was head of the municipality’s agriculture committee, and courageously advised other members to submit the application and set up a new type of cooperative, which was approved by the province a year later. It is not easy, but with the efforts and determination of each member, Quynh Minh Agricultural Service and Business Cooperative has not stopped changing its skin and gradually becoming the bright spot of the agricultural industry,” said Ho Dien Vy. enthusiastically.

It’s easy to say, but doing it is a long story, to stand firm you can’t put on your old worn shirt, on the contrary, you have to think of a way out of the situation ” old wine in a new bottle” .

In 2017, the cooperative actively built a model of a large model field with a variety of crops, especially 30 hectares, using scientific and technical advances to achieve excellent economic efficiency. By 2019, the strong cooperative will expand 15 ha to grow high-tech potatoes, the goal is to reduce the burden on other raw materials while solving the situation of devaluation season. An effective model will certainly find many followers, which is why the number of members of the cooperative has now reached 960.

Not following the crowd, calculating, choosy, it’s not hard to explain when Quynh Minh’s vegetables established a separate foothold. Preliminary calculation, Quynh Minh exports more than 12,000 tons of all kinds of vegetables and tubers to the market every year, the destinations are very different, from Vinh City (Nghe An) to Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, then back to Hue, Da Lat…

“Each time is different, the needs and tastes of consumers change a lot, they rely on quality instead of quantity as before. Quynh Minh Agricultural Service Business Cooperative understood this and realized that there must be radical changes focused on valuable products. In addition, the selection of distribution partners is also stricter, too easy will lose the brand sooner or later,” said Mr. Vy.

In 2019, Mr. Vy started building a model of a high-tech net house on a plot of 3.5 ha, there are only casuarinas everywhere and white sand everywhere. Therefore, when talking about most of them, they shook their heads and tried very hard to convince the 19 members of the cooperative. In fact, those who dare to think are those who can do great things.
