Total seasonal precipitation for areas in the province is likely below the long-term average.

During the change of seasons, the temperature will drop sharply, if they are not cared for and well managed, aquatic animals will die from cold and get infected with some measures such as fungus, bacteria, virus, etc. Diseases of aquatic animals has the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lao Cai just sent a written request to the people’s committees of districts and cities to guide specialized agencies and the people’s committees of townships, districts and townships to guide them do some of the following:

– Maintain the pond water level to ensure a depth of over 1.5-2m. Make a frame and cover the surface of the pond with nylon (or make a trellis for climbing plants on the surface of the pond, such as squash rigs, gourds, etc. drop 1/3 – 2/3 of the pond surface) around to block the wind and insulate heat, air, increasing the ability to retain heat for the pond.

– Increase the resistance of fish by regular supplementation of vitamin C, B, A for 25 – 30 days mixed with feed, dosage of 500 – 1,000 mg/kg feed, feeding for 5-7 consecutive days.

– Apply lime regularly to the pond in a dose of 1.5 – 2 kg/100 m3 (1 – 2 times/month) to stabilize the pond environment and kill pathogens. During the period of severe cold, harmful cold, in no case do not pull nets to check farmed seafood, do not harvest by pruning to avoid scratching, to limit red spot disease, fungal sores, fungus melon, wheelworm and parasites…

– for breeding fish in cages, it is necessary to reduce the depth, to ensure a water level of 3-4 m, to place the cage in a position away from the wind; Cover the front of the cage with a tarp or black netting during severe cold and noxious cold.

– For cold-water fish farming, hatcheries and hatcheries must have a plan to regulate and conserve water; At the same time, prepare the necessary machinery and equipment (pumps, aerators, flow generators, 2 half-circulation filter systems …) to take remedial measures when the amount of water in rivers and streams decreases The amount of rainfall of the entire season in the province is likely to be less than average many years.

– Daily monitoring of environmental factors to ensure pond water quality according to technical requirements. Observe abnormal phenomena, identify the cause for timely treatment. Organize early harvesting of aquatic products in harvest season to limit cold death damage.

To strengthen the dissemination and guide the prevention and treatment of some common diseases in aquatic animals during the change of seasons (according to the attached detailed appendix).
