Accordingly, the first shipment of Tan Lac Red Grapefruit to the UK market took place at the Tan Lac Red Pomelo Production, Processing and Consumption Cooperative (Hamlet 3, Tu Ne Parish).
The supply of Tan Lac red grapefruit for export amounting to almost 7 tons provided by members of 3 cooperatives producing red grapefruit in Tan Lac district; Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Hai Duong) is the consumption and transportation unit.
According to the Hoa Binh Plant Protection and Cultivation Sub-Department, the National Office of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) issued a collective trademark certificate for the red Pomelo Tan Lac in 2017. So far, 240 hectares of red pomelo in the district are VietGAP and organic certified. Specifically, there are 6 planting area codes under export standards to the EU, which are allocated 140 hectares of concentrated red pomelos.
On November 23rd, all 6 red pomelo samples met the technical requirements of 821 food safety inspection criteria as required by the EU and UK. At the same time, the product is also recognized by the plant quarantine authority of Vietnam as not being infected with the plant quarantine objects of the importing country.

The successful export of red grapefruit to the UK market has greatly contributed to consolidating the position and brand of citrus in general and red grapefruit in particular of Hoa Binh Province in the domestic and overseas markets. At the same time, this is also the “sweet fruit” of the process of persistent development of pomelo trees in a safe and sustainable direction by cooperatives and people in Tan Lac District.
