On September 13, the Central Committee of Vietnamese Farmers’ Union solemnly held the 6th National Conference to praise good farmers in production and business for 2017-2022.
The conference was attended by a member of the Politburo, the head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh and heads of a number of ministries and branches.
The conference was also attended by 300 typical and distinguished farmer delegates nationwide in the 2017-2022 movement, representing more than 3.6 million good farming and business households at all levels of the country.
FARMERS RECEIVE OVER 500 MILLION VND/YEAR INCOME, growing
Opening the conference, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Farmers’ Union, said he followed President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings: “Let the poor have enough to eat, the people have enough to eat. People who are wealthy and rich get richer.
Over the past 33 years, the movement has grown in strength, with far-reaching effects in all areas of agricultural production, forestry, fisheries, handicrafts and services, becoming the revolutionary movement of the Vietnamese peasantry in the reform period.
“Not only has the quantity increased, but the quality of good production and business budgets has improved and is more sustainable. Specifically, the number of farm households with incomes over VND 500 million/year has tripled, and the number of households with low income levels has tripled. Income above VND 1 billion/year continues to grow 2x.”

Continuing the development dynamics of the previous periods in the period from 2017 to 2022, although they still face many difficulties and challenges due to the negative impact of the world situation with complicated and unpredictable developments; in particular the impact of trade competition between major countries, political and military conflicts, climate change and the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic…Vietnamese at all levels have been sensitive, creative and actively have innovative content and ways of working in directing, leading and organizing the implementation of the movement.
According to the Vietnam Farmers’ Association, the total number of agricultural households recognized as good production and business households at all levels annually for the period 2017-2022 is 3.61 million households, accounting for 58.1% of registered households. Compared to the 2012-2017 period, the number of households achieving the title of “High Producing” households and entrepreneurial households at all levels increased by 60,000 households.
Out of the movement, there are more and more good peasant households with large production scales, business capital of hundreds of billions of dongs, attracting tens or hundreds of employees, annual incomes of hundreds of millions of dongs to tens of thousands of dongs. billion dongs .
Typical good business farmers can be named like: Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, in Cao Duc Township, Gia Binh District, Bac Ninh with the model of connecting vegetables to be exported to Korea and Japan. Farmer Hoang Thi Chap, Coc San Township, Lao Cai City, Lao Cai Province, who produces juvenile fish, successfully crossed Chinese carp with red river carp and earned VND1.2-1.8 billion/year.
Farmer Ngo Duc Thang, Head of Duck Breeding Profession, Pham Ngu Lao Municipality, Kim Dong, Hung Yen With more than 40 members, the association’s turnover is over VND 100 billion. Farmer Le Dinh Truc in Yen Tho Township, Nhu Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province is currently the director of a high-tech mushroom production cooperative with sales of VND4 billion/year. Farmer Tran Thi Thanh Thoan in Do Quan Village, Moc Nam Township, Duy Tien District, Ha Nam with the Dairy Farming and Milk Processing Model, income 14 billion VND/year.
Farmer Pham Dang Khuyen in Khanh Nhac Township, Yen Khanh District, Ninh Binh Province produces sedges for export and provides jobs for 140 local workers; The annual turnover reaches 58-97 billion dong. Farmer Dang Van Bay in Thanh Phong Township, Thanh Phu, Ben Tre, with a high-tech shrimp farming model and a turnover of VND25 billion/year.
TRADITIONAL FLOORS NEED WORK
In the past 10 years, good production and business farmers at all levels have contributed more than VND 10,000 billion, 3 million working days for building new rural areas, repairing and concreting over 36,000 km rural roads; Consolidation and repair of over 27,000 km of channels in the field; Local job creation for more than 5 million workers, of which over 1.5 million workers are in regular employment; More than 3 million workers have seasonal jobs or jobs, helping more than 200,000 farm households out of poverty…
