On June 21, the Center for Promotion of Agricultural Trade (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) coordinated with communities to organize the first regional farmer and specialty market in 2023 with the theme “Week of Promotion of Tea and Tropical Fruit Products”. The fair will be held from June 21 to 24 at the Exhibition, Economic and Trade Area (Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, 489 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi).
This is an activity to support agricultural enterprises and cooperatives in introducing agricultural, forestry and fisheries products to consumers in and around Hanoi, which are specialties and key products from places across the country. At the same time, a bridge is created between manufacturers and product insurers, supermarkets, distribution systems and retail outlets, creating closed and transparent agricultural product chains from production through processing, canning, trade and distribution to consumers.
The fair is an important activity to support communities, cooperatives and companies operating in the agricultural sector to develop production and business, connect consumption of agricultural products, and introduce and promote products to consumers. Since then, it has contributed to the consolidation and expansion of the domestic consumption market, under the motto “Vietnamese give priority to the use of Vietnamese goods” and “Vietnamese goods conquer Vietnamese consumers”.
The fair includes over 60 stands, attended by cooperatives, companies and farmers’ associations from many provinces of the country, including Hanoi, Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Dak Lak, Kon Tum, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang…
The market features many famous agricultural products and specialties associated with geographical regions, such as: Ly Son onions and garlic; Muong Khuong Chili Sauce, Seng Cu Rice (Lao Cai); black jelly, sli cake (cao bang); gotu kola jelly, nutritive water from thanh hoa sugar cane; coffee, macadamia dak lak; Nghe An Calves; Rice ST25 Soc Trang; dried vegetables, fruits and aquatic products…
Specifically, at the market, visitors have the opportunity to experience and purchase tea products and a variety of seasonal tropical fruits from each region, such as: Bac Giang lychee; durian, avocado, custard apple Dak Nong; Moc Chau Plum (Son La); Cao Bang black currant; Lam Son Melon (Thanh Hoa)…
The highlight of the market was the first live stream sale of agricultural products and specialties via TikTok and social networking platforms. With the careful preparation of the organizing committee, the products are carefully selected, fully meet the quality and food safety standards, and promise consumers a lot of interesting watching and shopping experiences through direct purchase on the live stream (customers can directly view and buy products on the OCOP market channel on TikTok from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Nguyen Minh Tien, director of the Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion, said that the agricultural and regional specialty market, themed “Tea and Tropical Fruit Products Promotion Week” is the first in a series of fairs organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion in cooperation with related entities, based on actual aggregated information on local fruit and agricultural products and production schedules.
According to Mr. Tien, regional farmer’s and specialty markets that combine direct and online sales through live streaming via social networking platforms will provide customers with more trade and shopping opportunities and encourage the spread of values and emotions when they receive comprehensive information on production conditions, quality standards, processing and preservation processes, and stories about traditional products linked to local culture and identity symbols.
Following this fair, the next market will be held from August 24th to 27th at the Exhibition, Economic and Trade Zone, 489 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hanoi, with the theme “Week of Promoting Na, Agricultural Specialties and OCOP Products in Lang Son Province”.
The series of farmers’ markets and regional specialties in 2023 is like a miniature festival and offers people in the capital and the surrounding area the opportunity to directly experience the quality of the products in a friendly and up-close space. Production units have the ability to expand product consumption markets and gather timely feedback from the market to adjust and create effective production and business plans.
