In addition to Lumpy Skin Hospital, there are many other cows with foot-and-mouth disease in Binh Son district. These two diseases occur simultaneously, causing farmers here to stand still.
Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Ha’s family (resident in Xuan Yen Tay Village, Binh Hiep Township, Binh Son District) has 8 cows, 7 of them have foot-and-mouth disease, the other has a rash with severe symptoms.
“Our people also have experience in treating foot-and-mouth disease, which has been around for many years. And the inflammatory skin disease does not know how to treat it. I have used both veterinary medicine and men’s medicine, but the effect is not high. For our people, the cow is a great asset, and when I see the whole herd getting sick like that, I often stay in front of the barn every day for treatment,” Ms. Ha shared.
According to Ms. Ha, her cows have been sick for more than 1.5 months, and the cost of medicines is nearly 8 million. Now her family only hopes that the responsible authorities will support vaccines and effective medicines so that people are not harmed and further spread is prevented.
