The Ministry of Industry and Trade requires the strict implementation of instructions from the government, the prime minister and the National Steering Committee 389 in managing petroleum business activities.
In particular, the ministry ordered the market management force to be on duty during the Lunar New Year with 100% of the army, while strengthening supervision and inspection, timely detecting and resolutely dealing with the petroleum trading system law in all kinds of wholesalers, distributors, general agents and retailers.
The provincial and city market management departments are responsible for coordinating with the departments of industry and commerce in their municipalities to check the security of gasoline and oil supply to prevent breakdowns and local gasoline and oil shortages for the gas station and oil dealers among and the distribution system of key dealers, distributors, general agents dealing in gasoline and oil in the area.
If signs of violation or commercial fraud are found in the business of stores, it is necessary to make a record and process it immediately.

Also at the official announcement, the Department of Industry and Trade reiterated that it will crack down on officials and officials who lose leadership, cover up, support or ignore violations in the petroleum business.
Earlier, on Jan. 18, the General Department of Market Management also issued an official letter No. 77 with similar content to promptly prevent petroleum business violations and protect the interests of consumers during and after the Lunar New Year of Rabbit 2023.
Before the Lunar New Year holiday, many gas stations closed and reported that they were running out of gas. Many people, especially in An Giang, have to buy plastic canisters to buy gasoline.
Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is collecting citizens’ opinions on the draft decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP of November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2013 /ND -CP of 3 September 2014 of the government on petroleum trade.
The Department of Industry and Trade proposes gradually reducing state intervention and allowing businesses to set and announce retail prices themselves based on actual costs. In addition, the ministry plans to shorten the time for regulating gasoline prices to 7 days, instead of being regulated to 10 days and on Thursdays every week, excluding public holidays, as has been the case up to now.
