Dak Lak This is the 4th factory and one of Japfa’s most modern projects in Vietnam with a planned capacity of up to 40 million chicks per year.
Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd (Japfa Vietnam) has officially started the poultry hatchery in Pong D’Rang Township, Krong Buk District, Dak Lak Province.
The factory covers an area of 2.2 ha, designed and built according to a modern model, applying painless advanced infrared beak cutting technology and exclusive Inovo vaccination technology to protect chicks from infancy.
With a closed process to Global GAP international standards and a design capacity of up to 40 million chicks per year, the factory will serve the demand for high quality breeding stock for the Central, Central Highlands and Southeast markets and surrounding areas.
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Vice General Manager of Japfa Vietnam said, “In the company’s long-term development direction, the Central Highlands is an important strategic market with a favorable location in terms of transportation infrastructure, connecting the region with neighboring provinces, such as Binh Phuoc Mills, Binh Dinh and Binh Thuan.
In addition, the local land fund is suitable for the development of industrial animal husbandry and brings stable economic value. Especially with the support of the local authorities, Japfa Vietnam has entered a period of strong development with higher ambitions and goals.”
The hatchery operation has an important meaning by reducing the transportation time to ensure the health of the chicks, thereby reducing the loss rate and increasing the breeding efficiency. The first batch of chickens from the Dak Lak hatchery has been delivered to the market since mid-November 2022.
Judging the quality, Ms. Huynh Thi Ly Ly (Hoa Thuan Township, Buon Ma Thuot City) said that the chicks imported from the factory were of high quality with high uniformity. The beak-cutting technology the factory adopts helps make chicks healthier, improve livestock productivity and ensure animal welfare compared with the traditional beak-cutting method.
In particular, chicks were separated from roosters and hens during transport to the farm to optimize animal productivity.
Japfa was present in Vietnam in 1996 with a joint venture model with the Vietnam Livestock Corporation. In 1999, Japfa became a 100% foreign-owned company named Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. headquartered in Huong Canh City, Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province.
Before starting up the 4th factory in Dak Lak, Japfa Vietnam operated 3 poultry hatcheries in Thai Binh, Binh Duong and Dong Nai.
To date, the company owns nearly 30 high quality breeding chicken farms and cooperates with more than 1,000 chicken rearing households nationwide, supplying the market with more than 100 million chicks per year.
