Modloft has grown significantly in the United States and Canada in recent years. With more than 100 stores and counting, Ted Toledano has made it a major brand in the modern furniture market. While most other modern furniture players focus on chairs, bar stools, counter stools, and tables, Modloft has carved a niche for itself in the home furniture space with modern beds, Modloft entertainment centers, dressers, and nightstands.
Although Modloft also caters to the restaurant chairs and tables segment, its primary focus is on the modern home furniture market. Not only do they freshen up their designs each season, but they also constantly change their logo, website, and colors to keep the brand and its products fresh.
New collections are added every year, with some subtle ones in the existing collection being a Modloft strength. While Modloft patio furniture is a non-stock item for restaurants and resorts, most home furnishings always have good inventory on hand. With warehouses in Miami and North Carolina, the logistics of the furniture are handled well and effectively.
Although most of their production occurs in China, some of it is also made near the coast like Brazil. The furniture construction consists primarily of MDF (Medium Density Fiber) with applied veneers in white lacquer, oak, walnut and wenge. They make quality modern furniture, but as with any piece made from MDF, durability increases if you don’t move it frequently. Frequent movement of modern furniture can result in damage, scratches and loose ends and chipped corners.
Classic Modloft Monroe beds and Worth beds have traditionally been bestsellers in the platform bed space. Both are inspired by low, floor-level Japanese-style platform beds with clean, linear designs. Most headboards are available in leather or fabric and the footboard in wenge or walnut finish. There are matching bedside tables and chests of drawers for all collections. Their bedroom line elegantly boasts Italian innovation and contemporary design.
Modloft TV stands are their second best items. Lexington TV stands lay the foundation for living rooms in modern furniture. The previous best selling Anna Wall Unit has been replaced by Esplendore and Fenzo Wall Units. The living room line is accompanied by coffee table, bookshelves, benches and side tables.
Luxo and Azur by Modloft are upscale furniture collections. Most of the products in these collections are non-stock items with a lead time of ten to fourteen weeks and can be custom made as needed. With its current range, Modloft sums up modern living furniture from the middle to upper segment very nicely.
