To date, short-term flowers and ornamental plants are generally slow to sell, only potted gerbera plants are quite good because they are convenient, cheap, and easy to care for for long-term use. .

Garden House Kien Thuy in Village 6 (Xuan Quan Township) has 4 Sao (16,000 pots) gerbera flowers, from the 9th lunar month to now, 50% of the amount has been exported to merchants. The rest have already been ordered by customers and retail buyers have also started to come and shop in preparation for the Lunar New Year market, the retail price ranges from VND30,000 to VND36,000/pot. According to gardeners, the selling price of potted gerberas is still quite high, but still not as good as it was during this period last year (despite the Covid-19 epidemic).

Gardener Dao Huong (same village 6) planted 5 Sao Gerbera pots and has now completed almost 50% of the amount with traders. Anh Dao revealed that planting a stalk of gerbera pots minus all costs still brought in VND 33 million/year. Households that do not have to lease farmland can earn up to VND 60-80 million/sao/year.

According to gardener Tuyen Men, a beautiful gerbera pot must have lots of leaves, lots of flowers and the typical color of the variety. There must be a new flower, a flower bud, and a flower about to bloom. At the same time, the set of leaves must be thick green, the tree should not have any harmful pests. In order to extend the playing time of gerbera pots, consumers should avoid placing pots in places with direct sunlight, especially in summer.

The gerbera plant does not tolerate excessive soil moisture. Therefore, on rainy days, it is necessary to put the flower pot in a dry place. Nevertheless, it is necessary for the potted plants to water the soil and keep it moist every day (depending on the weather). Fertilize each pot with 1 teaspoon synthetic NPK + 2 teaspoons superphosphate (diluted for irrigation) every 7-10 days. You can wash thick rice with water, soak it with superphosphate for about 15-20 days, and then water it instead of NPK.

After each flower has faded, it must be removed down to the base of the branch so that the pot can continue to form new flower buds. With good care, buy a pot of gerbera flowers that can be used for a year or more. It is also possible to split the gerbera branch and put it in another pot, the tree will be younger in physiological age and give more beautiful flowers.

The mixture of the medium for growing gerbera contains 1/3 clean soil, 1/3 sawdust, 1/3 rotted organic fertilizer. Choose plastic pots or ceramic and porcelain pots from old ornamental plants, size 20 x 16 x 22, pour a high medium 3 – 5 cm from the opening of the pot.
