Promoting human and intellectual exchange is an essential part of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s state visit to Korea. This is also the concern and priority of the heads of state and government of both countries.

The friendship between the two peoples dates back hundreds of years, when the Vietnamese Ly family settled in Korea, or the friendly exchanges between Dai Viet’s envoy Phung Khac Khoan and the Vietnamese delegation, which encouraged god Ly Tuy Quang of North Korea and was particularly active , since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.

After 30 years, the ties between the peoples of both countries are closer than ever: between the two countries there are more than 1000 back and forth flights in a month, nearly 5 million people visit each other, more than 70 local couples To establish friendly and cooperative relations around 250,000 people from both countries live in each other’s countries, including 60,000 Vietnamese and Korean bridal couples. The typical cultural features of this country such as spring rolls, ao dai, Vietnamese noodle soup, kimchi, kpop and hanbok (han bok) from Korea have become familiar to the people of the other country.

Human-to-human exchanges not only improve understanding between individuals, but also improve understanding between the two peoples in all aspects.

During the visit, the leaders of the two countries stressed the need to further promote exchanges between the two countries as an important factor in promoting Vietnam-Korea ties and friendship. Immediately after his arrival in Korea, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Korea and friendship organizations such as the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Korean Cultural Exchange Association, etc. – Viet, the Ly Hoa Son Vietnam family in Korea.

During the meetings, the President called on the Vietnamese community in Korea to uphold the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, solidarity, love and support for one another and to promote the role of connecting the two nations; Friendship associations must further strengthen their mission of acting as a bridge and supporting exchanges between mass organizations, places and people of the two countries to be more active, more substantial and appropriate to the framework of the partnership. The comprehensive strategy between the two countries has just been announced to be updated.

The companies of both countries are also not only the active core of promoting economic cooperation between the two countries, but also help to improve exchanges and mutual understanding between companies, mass organizations and municipalities of the two countries. They are important objects that the governments of the two countries will pay more attention and support to in the coming period.

It can be said that the results of the visit are not only politically successful, but also have profound social and humanistic significance, and meet the expectations of the people and businesses of the two countries. This is also a milestone and an important impetus to promote the deepening, stable and sustainable cooperation between the two countries, for the common interests of the two peoples to actively contribute to maintaining relations between the two countries, to maintain peace and stability and promotion of cooperation and development in the region and in the world.
