The average sales price of organic tea is 4-5 times higher than that of conventionally produced fresh Bud tea. The average value of GAP-certified bud fresh tea products is around 55-70 million VND/ha, higher than the value of conventionally produced bud fresh tea products of 15-30 million VND/ha.

Mr. Giang Duc Hiep, head of the Cultivation and Plant Protection Subdivision of Ha Giang Province, said that in 2011, Ha Giang Province started the implementation of organic agricultural production on Shan Tuyet tea trees in Cao Bo Township, Vi Xuyen District have an area of ​​about 900ha. In 2014 and 2015, the province continued to allocate 923.5 hectares in Tien Yen Municipality (Quang Binh District); Ta Su Choong Township, Ho Thau Township and Tung San Township (Hoang Su Phi District).

After more than 10 years of implementation, the total tea area certified by safety standards in the province has reached 11,611 ha / 65 regions / 63 farms, accounting for about 61.25% of the province’s tea area, of which VietGAP tea The area is 4,858 ha, the Organic tea area 7,071 ha. Of the above-mentioned organic tea areas, more than 1,500 ha / 4 companies use tea production according to international organic standards (EU), the rest is organic tea area in 21 companies that meet the standard use.

The Shan Tea area is linked to processing plants, businesses and cooperatives in the area. There are currently over 700 tea processing plants of all kinds in the province, including 4 joint-stock companies, 8 limited companies, 23 cooperatives and 665 small-scale plants, with a total processing capacity of about 280 tons of fresh bud tea per day.

In addition to the sense of nurturing, protecting and developing the tea field towards organic, people also actively produce high-quality tea products and connect the market, so that Nam An organic tea can reach the major markets.

In June 2021, Ha Giang Province has 2 products with 5 stars OCOP, both of which are products of Hoang Su Phi District. Ha Giang’s products include 100g green tea and 100g red tea from Phin Ho Tea Processing Cooperative (Thong Nguyen Township, Hoang Su Phi District).

In order to further enhance the brand and bring Ha Giang’s organic tea products to large markets and exports, Ha Giang’s agricultural and rural development industry, agencies and units will continue to encourage and support the active units: trade promotion, brand promotion, strengthening the Connections and development of organic products in domestic and foreign markets; Support for new forms of sales in Internet applications, such as participation in national and international agricultural product exchanges (Shopee, Lazada, Alibaba, Amazon…).
