On July 22, 2023, with the aim of promoting trade and enhancing the digital capabilities of local SMEs, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Phu Tho Province to organize a livestream sales training program for OCOP subjects in Phu Tho.

PHU THU ADVERTISES OCOP PRODUCTS ON DIGITAL FACILITIES

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, director of Vietnam Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, said at the event, “After the Covid-19 epidemic, consumers tend to shop on e-commerce platforms.” At present, the consumer trend is towards highly interactive platforms, especially for specialties, agricultural products and OCOP products.

“Through these platforms, sellers and themes can tell stories about the origins, traditions and production processes of products in order to improve the interaction between consumers and sellers and in particular to create trust and inspiration for consumers.” “We are moving towards the trend of experiencing and generating emotions in the buyer,” emphasized Mr. Tien.

Under the policy of 2021-2025 National Target Program to Build New Rural Development, TikTok as a strategic partner has been constantly launching new initiatives to promote rural product trade, create a driving force for agricultural industry restructuring related to advanced rural new construction, while transforming the number of new rural areas toward smart new rural areas.

Within this framework, we organize training courses on the topics of leadership, approach, sales and live streaming on the Vietnam Tiktokshop platform. On the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center side, it supports facilities, live stream sales and product logistics for consumers in cooperation with Tiktokshop Vietnam.

Tiktok Vietnam representative Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh said that with the rapid development of e-commerce and domestic digital economy, Vietnamese agricultural products are gaining strength in the international market, confirming the potential and quality of domestic products.

“Under the long-term OCOP program in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Phu Tho Province, the TikTok team is proud to promote local specialties, traditional handicraft villages and Vietnamese handicrafts, thereby helping to promote trade in the region and spread national cultural values to friends on five continents,” said Thanh.

Ms. Vu Dieu Thuy, founder of MCN Kolin, reiterated that Vietnam is a country with rich agricultural products: “We want to spread agricultural products and support farmers to sell on digital platforms.” Looking to 2024, MCN Kolin will guide farmers and support farmers to sell on digital platforms, especially Tiktok.

Kolin MCN not only stops at the live stream promotion and sale of typical agricultural products and OCOP products of Phu Tho province in the Tiktok shop, but will also continue the campaign to support people involved in online agricultural business with training activities, guidance, broadcasting the process of stall construction, and sales channel construction and operation.

“Through these accompanying activities, it will help the subjects to actively find new long-term directions for the promotion and trade of local agricultural products, thus contributing to the promotion of their homeland’s traditional culture and history in all parts of the country,” stressed Ms. Vu Dieu Thuy.

ATTRACT MORE THAN 20 MILLION INTERACTIVITIES

According to the organizing committee, the program’s livestream event has attracted more than 20 million views, proving the appeal of typical local products. Products to be sold via livestream at this event fall under 6 themes: School Foods has sour meat; Hoai Trung Tea Company Limited (Chi Tien Township, Thanh Ba District) offers 5-star OCOP Dinh Tea; The Hung Lo Rice Noodles Cooperative (Viet Tri City) has rice noodles; Lien Gia Trang cooperative with Hoa Lua soybeans, pickled cassava; Maika Food Co.,Ltd. has more than 40 special agricultural products of all kinds.

“Through this project, TikTok aims to improve the livelihoods of 20,000 local farmers, people from artisan villages and small businesses in 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam, while helping to preserve local traditional culture and promote tourism.”

Nguyen Lam Thanh, TikTok representative in Vietnam.

At the event, a farmer shared: By participating in the livestream program, we were trained on how to sell on the e-commerce platform to bring new shopping experiences to consumers. I see it as a new direction for businesses, particularly farmers, who have the opportunity to generate more stable and sustainable sales and profits than traditional businesses.

It is known that TikTok and Vietnam Agricultural Trade Promotion Center signed a cooperation agreement in April 2023 to enhance the digital transformation capability of enterprises whose products have been certified under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program on the e-commerce platform, while creating benefits and favorable conditions for the development of agricultural product consumption in Vietnam.

From here, TikTok launches a series of OCOP Market events that are broadcast live (livestream) weekly on the TikTok Shop. The event offers the opportunity to promote and sell online products – regional specialties made by local small and medium-sized enterprises themselves.

In addition to the “OCOP Fair – Back to the Land of the Ancestors” program held on July 22, the campaign “Connecting and supporting farmers to promote and trade agricultural products on digital platforms” will be further implemented by Kolin MCN in cooperation with Agritrade and Tiktok Vietnam over the next two years.

These programs promise to help farmers conduct business safely and effectively through online platforms. Contribute to the promotion and preservation of local traditional culture.
