“In the past crop year, the factory has invested in cultivating more than 8,000 hectares of silk cane, of which more than 4,000 hectares are expanded sugar cane areas. Therefore, in the coming year 2023-2024, the factory’s Dong Gia Lai sugar cane material area will grow to nearly 29,000 hectares. “After the end of the 2022-2023 press harvest year, steady rainfall occurred throughout the raw material area, so the entire area of silk cane and native sugar cane is in the tillering stage and developing very well,” said Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuoc.
According to Mr. Phuoc, the sugar cane yield in the raw material area of An Khe Sugar Factory reached nearly 75 tons/ha in the last crop year, about 11-12 tons/ha more than the same period last year’s yield level. highest ever.
“Last year the weather was very favorable as it rained regularly throughout the year and created favorable conditions for growing sugar cane. In addition, the sugar cane farmers in Gia Lai invested more in sugar cane cultivation last year than in previous years, resulting in a high yield from sugar cane. In particular, the degree of mechanization of sugar cane production in the raw material sector also increased more sharply last year than in previous years, in particular the area of synchronous mechanization in large fields reached over 70%. For another year, the sugar cane farmers in the Dong Gia Lai raw material region can look forward to a good harvest and a good price. The sugar cane yield reaches almost 75 tons/ha, which the sugar cane farmers here have never dared to think about. In addition, the purchase price for raw sugar cane is also high in this crop year. Many investment policies for the new harvest year
In order to prepare for the upcoming harvest next year, An Khe Sugar Factory has also issued an investment guideline based on the need for cooperation in investment and development of the sugarcane material field of the people who directly produce sugarcane and trade with the factory. Development of raw material areas and harvesting of sugar cane by combining machines as in previous years.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuoc, deputy director of An Khe Sugar Factory, the raw material area of the factory increased in the 2023-2024 crop year, reaching nearly 29,000 hectares. The factory will invest in sugarcane acreage to grow silk with three new varieties including Uthoong 11, KK3 and LK92-11; The price of one investment unit ranges from 6 to 12 million VND/ha. As for fertilizers, the factory will invest in both silk and sugar cane acreage between 800 and 1,000 kg/ha. As for the investment in tillage, cultivation and care of the sugar cane, the factory will invest VND 2 million/ha for the area where people cultivate their own land.
Especially in sugar cane growing areas that are entitled to policies to promote factory mechanization of large fields, sugar cane farmers must ensure conditions such as: the area of each production site must be more than 5ha, and the area of each plot must be more than 5ha over 2ha; Sugar cane fields must be concentrated, seamless, without rocks or stumps, relatively flat and with a slope of less than 7%.
Households that grow sugar cane in large fields need to fully implement the mechanized cultivation process of An Khe Sugar Factory in production from plowing to planting to care. Care and fertilization must be done at least once using the plant’s motorized machine. If sugar cane fields do not meet the above conditions, they are not eligible for large field promotion measures.
On large fields, production sites with an area of 5 to 10 hectares by An Khe Sugar Factory will be reduced by 10% of mechanical costs according to the building unit price; Production sites with an area of 10-15 ha are reduced by 15%; The area over 15 ha will be reduced by 20% of the cost according to the unit price.
