Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son – deputy director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hanoi said that Hanoi is one of the largest agricultural producing cities in the country with an annual output of more than 737,000 tons of food. 1.4 million pigs; OCOP products account for 20% of the total OCOP products nationwide.

Especially for food processing, there are 1,700 factories in Hanoi, of which 250 are specialized processing factories with high scientific and technological content.

This week’s fair is an opportunity for cooperative businesses to strengthen trade relations and market access, particularly bringing goods onto the electronic floor and distributing them to trading centers and supermarkets.

Hanoi also has a large consumer market with about 10 million people, but the amount of domestically produced agricultural products only covers about 35-60% of the demand, depending on the product type.

Therefore, the weekly market will be a bridge between Hanoi and other provinces, cooperatives and companies to get information about the production and the market. It’s not just about promoting and consuming regional products and specialties at the right time of year and in the right quality, but also about ordering according to consumer taste and coordinating food safety and hygiene with management. We act as a bridge between Hanoi and the local communities to exchange experiences in the field of digital transformation in agriculture, thus contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products.

This is also a good opportunity for Hanoi to introduce and promote OCOP products and its famous specialties like Me Tri Nuggets, Uoc Le Spring Rolls, Van Dinh Duck Rolls… to other provinces.
