The tea growing and processing profession Tan Cuong (Thai Nguyen Town) has been established for about 100 years with unique values. Tan Cuong tea growing area has a total area of more than 1,300 ha with an annual production of more than 20,000 tons and is mainly concentrated in three townships of Thai Nguyen city, namely Tan Cuong, Phuc Triu and Phuc Xuan.
The Tan Cuong Tea District is an area with special soil and climate conditions, which is particularly suitable for the growth and development of tea plants, which are only found in a few places. Through centuries of experience in growing and processing tea, people have created special tea products that are characterized by their excellent taste.
With this special meaning, in 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 240/QD-BVHTTDL on the recognition of the list of national intangible cultural heritage “Knowledge of Cultivation and Processing. Tan Cuong Tea” for communities in the Tan Cuong Tea District. This is an event of great importance to the people, contributing to the promotion of Tan Cuong specialty tea for economic development.
