In Nicosia, Cyprus there is a new shopping center called Shacolas Emporium Park that has just opened. I was there in December for Christmas gifts.

What does it have to offer?

There are two floors. There is a multiplex cinema on the top floor showing the latest films. There are also all kinds of restaurants such as Macdonalds, Chinese, Greek food and a sandwich area. There are also a few cafes.

There are only a few shops on the top floor. There is a shop called Public which is similar to Borders (in the UK). This store is very large and offers books, DVDs, the latest computer games and music. All books, music and DVD movies are available in English and Greek.

There are other shops on this floor but mainly accessories and clothing shops.

On the ground floor there are Next, Debenhams, Carrefour (supermarket), Zara (menswear and womenswear), Intersport (a large sports shop), The Early Learning Center and many more.

What else?

Next door outside the mall is a new IKEA store. This just opened this year. Huge like in the UK. They order over the phone throughout Cyprus (South only) sending all their catalogs to any home in Cyprus and you can call to request your item to be sent to your home address. You don’t even have to visit the store.

There is free parking for at least 2,500 cars and it’s easy to get a space.

how to get there

The mall is near the highway. You must follow the signs to Strovolos and The Cyprus Stock Exchange as they are right next door. All the signs are in English, so it’s very easy to find. It is easy to get to and the motorway is always traffic-free.

If you are vacationing in Cyprus, ask your guide if they offer day trips to Nicosia. Perhaps they can include a shopping spree.

recommendation

I would recommend that you visit Nicosia Shopping Center when in Cyprus. There are also other shopping areas in Nicosia that are worth visiting. You can make it a good day by even watching a movie and eating out. Whatever you’re looking for there, it’s worth a visit to see what’s on offer.
