In Bac Giang, Thaibinh Seed cooperated with Tan Yen District Agricultural Technical and Service Center to organize the implementation of a trial production model of high quality pure rice varieties TBR97 and TBR225 with rot resistance genes in Yen Village, Cao Township, Xa with a size of 2 ha.

The results showed that at the same time of sowing, the same feeding scheme, but the TBR97 variety had an average growth and development time shorter than that of KD18 by 4-5 days (the growth time of the TBR97 variety was 4-5 days) . days) 100 days). Regarding some growth parameters, the rice variety TBR97 has the characteristics of lower average height than KD18, hardy, medium-wide leaf base, narrow leaf angle, heart shape, light green leaf color. The tillering ability of the TBR97 variety was superior to the control variety, averaging about 7 effective branches/clusters (the control achieved an average of 6 effective branches/clusters). This is one of the standout traits of the TBR97 strain and contributes to an increased rice yield.

In terms of yield, the timing of flowering and coloring met heavy rainy weather, which was unfavorable for pollination and fertilization, resulting in the same number of seeds per panicle and solid seed to panicle ratio being lower in all varieties than the previous harvest at the same time. In the model, variety TBR97 yielded 172 seeds per cotton, of which 157 grains were solid and the rice grain was bright yellow. The expected net yield is 65.2 quintals/ha (control 50.4 quintals/ha). Thus, the model rice variety TBR97 had an average yield about 1.48 tons/ha higher than the control.

In Phu Tho, Thaibinh Seed collaborated with Cam Khe District People’s Committee to develop a demonstration model of high quality pure rice varieties TBR225 with rot resistance genes and TBR97 using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on Bo Duong field in Minh Tan Municipality with a scale of 40 to implement sao (TBR225 has leaf blight resistance gene 20 sao, TBR97 20 sao); using variety KD18 as a control. Households participating in the model receive 100% support with seeds, training in planting techniques and pest control.

Up to now, all rice fields are ready to be harvested, Thaibinh Seed has been working with local authorities and participating households to inspect and evaluate rice productivity directly in the field. A large number of professional agencies from the province, district, people of Minh Tan township and neighboring townships attended the evaluation session.

The results showed that the rice variety TBR225 with blight resistance gene grew and developed well after transplanting, the plants were strong and uniform, tillering was early and concentrated, the petiole developed strongly, the leaf plate was wide, and the leaves were large . During the period when the rice stalks grow vigorously, in 4-5 days the panicle flowers are concentrated and the cotton neck appears; The growth time is about 105 days (5-6 days longer than KD18).

Rice variety TBR97 grew well after transplanting, uniform, early tillering, concentrated, with upright leaves and compact clusters. During the period of healthy growth of rice stalks, the panicle of rice flower will bloom in 3-4 days, emerge from the neck and harden the plant; The growth time is about 99 days (corresponds to KD18).

In terms of resistance to pests and diseases, although the weather is complicated in the harvest, the period from rice cultivation to flowering continuously has many rains and storms, which is a condition for the development of rot, but the planting area of ​​the TBR225 variety rot-resistance genes do not infect rot and affect yield like some other popular strains.

In terms of yield, both varieties have a high number of firm seeds per truss. Actual yield of TBR225 with rot resistance gene was estimated at 252 kg/ha; The TBR97 variety reached 229 kg/bar (higher than the control group 28-51 kg/bar).

In terms of economic efficiency (status per unit of 1 sao), the cultivation model applying IPM such as TBR225 with rot resistance genes and TBR97 gives higher profit than traditional production for KD18 variety, which is 334,000 – 791,000 VND/rod.

Farmers can reduce production costs

In the upcoming winter-spring harvest, the family will continue to sow the TBR97 variety,” said Mr. Khiem happily.
