Ba Be District has just put together the Fragrant Pumpkin Festival 2023 program. The highlight of the event is that the organizers invited the two artists Xuan Bac and Tu Long to live stream on social media to sell gourds to people.
For more than two hours, while we were presenting zucchini and organizing many games around this agricultural product, there were about 10,000 orders on social networks and online sales platforms.
At the event, meritorious artist Xuan Bac introduced the special features of Bac Kan’s fragrant zucchini specialty to a large number of people through a live stream program.
Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac shared, “I am very happy to accompany people to grow zucchini in Ba Be District.” Supporting vendors will help people alleviate their hardships, get a higher income and at the same time to introduce the Ba Be zucchini brand to consumers in all parts of the country.

The fragrant variety of zucchini has long been cultivated by the Ba Be people and has become a local specialty with a distinctive aroma.
The fragrant zucchini grown in Ba Be District is known for its valuable properties: the stems, leaves, flowers and fruits are all fragrant and have a thick, hard skin, so they have a long shelf life. The fragrant zucchini is used as a green vegetable for the production of nutritious drinking water, as well as a remedy for warmth and beauty.
On July 29, 2022, the Ba Be fragrant zucchini variety was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for special distribution and is officially a plant variety with the name, address and copyright of Bac Kan Province according to Resolution No. 191 /QD- TT CLT.

Currently, Ba Be’s fragrant zucchini products meet the requirements for food safety products and are part of a clean chain of supply, of which 3 hectares comply with VietGAP standards and more than 12 hectares comply with organic standards.
The time from planting to harvesting the fragrant zucchini is only about 120 days, the average weight is about 2 kg/fruit, the yield is 30-40 tons/ha.
The fragrant zucchini brings high economic efficiency to farmers in Ba Be District, averaging more than 200 million VND/ha.
Currently, a number of cooperatives in Ba Be district have processed zucchini into products such as sugar cane jam, ginger cane jam, sweet and sour dried pumpkin, pumpkin tea and pumpkin seeds, snack foods, fermented pumpkin juice and many other products.

Mr. Luu Quoc Trung, chairman of Ba Be District People’s Committee, said that the district will continue to mobilize people to cultivate zucchini according to the procedure, ensure safe products, mobilize people to expand the area and improve the quality and quantity of products to improve. At the same time, continue to accompany the organization of brand promotion events, develop many sales methods to create motivation, increase income and help people feel confident in production for years to come.
